Orania palindan is a large, solitary tree palm to 30 m tall with a smooth, light gray trunk and a spreading crown of arching leaves with wide, drooping, leathery leaflets that are silvery white below. The seeds are large, about the size of a golfball. Orania palindan occurs in rainforests from the Philippines to northern New Guinea between sea level and 800 m and makes a stately ornamental for tropical climates in USDA Zones 10 and above.
