Aren gelora (Arenga undulatifolia) is a clump-forming palm tree. The trunk of this palm is hidden by old leaves and other clustering trunks. The fronds can grow up to 10 feet and are a medium blue-gray green with pronounced veins. The leaflets are toothed with wavy edges. This large and spreading, ornamental, tropical palm has undulate leaflets, giving it a distinctive and very pretty look. It is native to Borneo, the island of Palawan in the Philippines and Sulawesi (Celebes). In cultivation it needs plenty of space so it can be seen in all its splendor, and is happiest in the tropics or subtropics. Leaves are dark green above and silvery beneath.
